Epson and Integrated Retail Partner to Transform Retail Ticketing

London, 06 June 2018; EPSON & Integrated Retail Limited announce an integration of their technologies in a quest to transform ticketing for retailers in an increasingly complex multi-channel world.

The new ticketing solution combines high-quality colour shelf-edge labels produced on Epson ColorWorks printer with the iRexM3 technology, enabling direct to store, real-time intraday pricing and promotion content, all from a single core system and user interface.

From a consumers perspective e-commerce and brick-and-mortar is simply “commerce”. They expect to see the same deals however they shop, but this brings major challenges for retailers trying to deliver the right content and maintain compliant pricing across multiple media channels.

Steve Thornton-Greet, CEO at Integrated Retail commented:

“Retail needs to be more engaging, immediate and compelling when it comes to presenting offers to the customer. This partnership delivers beautiful, time relevant, and informative content to shelf edge, whatever the media.”

Implementing intraday pricing using printed labels can often be impractical due to speed and technical limitations. Although digital alternatives such as Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) and shelf strips can dramatically increase the speed of price change and reduce operational costs, they can be expensive to implement and tie retailers to a single vendor.

The partnership between Epson and Integrated Retail Limited solves both these issues, delivering a flexible, compliant all-in-one solution for retailers. Providing top-quality, impactful colour printing rapidly on-demand to store, but with the opportunity to trial digital price and marketing content via Electronic Shelf Labels without large up-front financial investment – allowing retailers to  ‘flex’ in a controlled, low-risk way.

The integration has been showcased at several of Epson’s reseller roadshows, receiving a great response from participants looking for innovation around multi-channel and ticketing.

David Spratt, Head of Business Systems at Epson UK Ltd commented;

“Epson has a strong pedigree in the retail sector as the leader in receipt printing.  We also have a fast-growing colour labelling business, and the iRex solution brings these two together, enabling our customers to enjoy the benefits high impact colour messaging on demand.”
